Buffalo Grove
Welcome to Buffalo Grove!
Just 35 miles Northwest of Chicago, Buffalo Grove has the honor of being the only city in Illinois to be named as one of the Top 50 Best Places to Live in 2013!
It’s history begins in 1834 when settlers came from New England. By the 1840’s many of the original settlers sold their land to immigrant Germans escaping the terrible living conditions in their homeland. American land was appealing because it was cheap and fertile. Immigrants settled in areas where they had common religion and nationality so Buffalo Grove became mostly German Catholic.
Buffalo Grove may not have a traditional downtown but residents enjoy quiet, tree lined neighborhoods, exceptional schools and an award winning park district with 800 acres of green land, 50 miles of trails, and public golf courses.
Buffalo Grove is also a desirable area for businesses looking to expand which lends to its economic stability. Kraft and CVS Headquarters have helped transform Buffalo Grove into one of the finest Chicagoland areas.
